In the morning, you will help Jens get the children ready. After breakfast, you will walk with the children to school and kindergarten. To do this, you will walk 10 minutes to the tram, then ride for 20 minutes, and then walk another 10 minutes. You can also drive if that suits you better. The children must be there by 8:00 in the morning and must be picked up again by 4:00 p.m. On one or two afternoons, you can spend some time with the children before I finish work. We usually eat dinner together. After dinner, you can clean the kitchen and dining room while we put the children to bed. Once a month, we will ask you to look after the children in the evening after everyone is in bed.

In addition to childcare, we expect you to clean the kitchen and dining room after meals in the morning and evening. Once a week, you should thoroughly clean the children's room (and, of course, your own room) and the bathroom you share with the children.

If the children cannot go to school/kindergarten because they are sick or the facility is closed, the children will stay at home with you all day.

Our experience so far has shown that our au pair's working hours are normally between 20 and 30 hours. In exceptional cases (e.g., if the children stay at home), it can be more, but we will make up for this the following week. You usually have the weekend off. If we go on vacation, you must also take your vacation.

We expect you to have enough experience with children to be safe and confident in traffic alone with our three children. You should be able to clearly communicate our rules for the children. To be able to communicate with the children right from the start, it would be great if you already speak some German (at least A2). This will make it easier for you to build a relationship. You should be able to interact well with our children and always approach them with joy.

Since we are a very fun-loving family, we also expect you to be open and friendly towards us. There's no reason to be shy. We invite you to become part of our family and do not view our relationship as a working relationship. Just as we treat each other with respect,treat each other with respect, we expect the same from you. You should have a healthy level of self-confidence and initiative. What we absolutely detest is selfishness and intolerance. Potsdam and Berlin offer you many opportunities to get to know the culture, the language and other people. You shouldn't be afraid of that. If you want, you can also spend your free time with us. To ensure you travel safely, we will give you a ticket that allows you to use all normal trains within Germany and a SIM card for the German network.
