Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are Tiffany, Tim, and little Leo and Rafael, an American family with a 2 year old and a newborn, living in Prague. If you choose to work and stay with us, we hope first of all that you will have a good time working with the kids, that you will enjoy your time here in the most beautiful city in Europe, and that you will be able to save for your future and perfect your English.

For our aupair, we are looking for someone reliable, responsible, who loves children and who can also help out from time to time with cooking, some light cleaning in common spaces and is okay with taking our 20 kg dog on walks. You will need to be allowed to work in the EU, and speakers of Spanish, French, and Czech are particularly invited to apply!

We try to keep basically the same hours weekly, but there is some flexibility for both you and us. If you need time off or are sick, we will always find a way to accommodate ?

Job Description

We are looking for someone to start around 9 February.

The schedule is tentative and the details can be negotiated with you, but we suggest a schedule of mornings (4 hours, 5 days a week) and some evenings (4 hours, 3 nights a week). We also ask for a longer dog walk per day (30 min), totaling 35 hours. Again, we are happy to work with your schedule if you need time for classes, or if you make plans or have an appointment you need to get to!

We occasionally go away for a few days, so we hope you can watch the dog when we are gone.

Accommodation

You will have your own room with a double bed. We include WiFi, a transit pass, a gym membership and a monthly stipend of €1000 on the expectation of 30-35 hours of work per week.

We keep the kitchen stocked with all the basics: coffee, tea, eggs, milk, yogurt, fruit, oats, vegetables, bread, cheese, lunch meat, beans, rice, pasta, and most importantly, chocolate! We tend to cook family dinner most days and you’re welcome to join so we can all get to know each other.

In the apartment, there are two toilets and one shower. We are located in a central and very nice neighborhood in Prague: Vršovice, with 3 tram lines in front of the apartment and everything you could want nearby: cafes and restaurants, the library, huge parks, and more!
