Welcome Letter to the Au Pair
we are a italian family of three, Simona (my wife), Jean Francois (myself) and our little cute Antoine Didier who will be 11 months old the time we plan to have you sharing part of your life journey with us. We are a family that is multilingual (Simona speaks italian, english, spanish, german and a little bit of russian and i speak italian, french, english, spanish, chinese and korean) and multicultural (Simona is half hispanic and we both lived years abroad), we lived and travelled a lot around the world and we wish Antoine grows up with the same international mindset by exposing him to different languages and cultures since early stage of life. We mainly live in an ancient mountain farmhouse converted into a B&B based in a small village/community in Aosta Valley, a bilingual autonomous region located in norh Italy at the borders with France and Switzerland, right in front of Mt. Blanc; our area is one of the most beautifull places on earth, a top end international tourist destination especially for winter skiing and summer vacations, surrounded nature, high mountains, hotsprings, full of local traditions and with a rich historical past. This is the place where we spend most of our time and where the core business of our family is located. We usually spend the summer months in the mountain house.
The international city of Milan, capital of fashion and design, is only 2 hours drive away and we often go there and spend few days or weeks depending on Simona's job which is at the Milan international school; as Antoine will probably start nursery in September 2025, we will spend weekdays in Milan and weekends in the mountain. Sometimes we go to the italian seaside or do a tour in France or Switzerland, during these journeys you'll be coming with us if you wish. We'll be deleighted to welcome you to our home and share with you our life and experience, while you will help us with little Antoine and learn a lot about italian culture, traditions and way of living. Your main task will be speaking as much as possible in chinese to Antoine (you can speak to both of us in english and with me in chinese), play with him and take care of him while with us or if we are busy doing something else. Other than that is just basically au pair tasks, and we can settle a weekly schedule that works well for both of us. You are not required to do cleanings, cooking or house chores but if you want to participate in something and make your contribution you are welcome to do so and it will be very appreciated; you'll have your own room and bathroom both in our mountain house and in Milan, and you have all the freedom to go in and out as you wish, we only require you to be clean, respectfull and keep your belongings and room neat and orderly, and teach Antoine to do so as well with his toys. We are not smokers (but you are allowed to smoke if you want) and we follow an healthy lifestyle, also in terms of food we eat everything and everyweek we prepare not only italian meals but also chinese, korean, japanese and south american, we drink moderately, of course you are welcome to make your own food if you wish. We have 2 friendly and snuggly dogs, one cat and two horses that we usually keep in the alpine meadows during the summer months; We'd like Antoine to be exposed to different environments and activities, so there will be plenty of opportunities to go hiking, dog walking, swimming, playing barefoot on the grass or playing on the snow, visit museums or go to ethnic restaurants. We would like to have you on board between June and July 2025 for a minimun period of 10-12 months. That's all for now, please feel free to aks us any question or request you might have and we'll respond promptly. Best. JF, Simona, Antoine
