Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Welcome to Our Family in Reykjavík!

We’re a friendly family of five living in the beautiful Vesturbær neighborhood in Reykjavík. We’re looking for a kind, positive, and adventurous au pair to join us and share in our family life!
We live in a house with a big garden, just a two-minute walk from the ocean. It’s a quiet and safe area, close to schools, kindergarten, and the local swimming pool — which we visit often! The bus stop is nearby, and it’s easy to reach the city center on foot, by bus, or with one of the electric scooters that are available everywhere.

My husband is a photographer, and I work in marketing and PR. We’re a laid-back, open-minded family who enjoys good food, time outdoors, and meeting new people. I’m originally Polish, and my husband is Icelandic (with Danish roots) — so we speak a mix of languages at home, and we’d love to share that multicultural spirit with you.
If you enjoy spending time with kids, love nature, and want to discover Iceland in a warm family atmosphere — we’d love to hear from you!
Warm regards,
Kasia & Family

Job Description

We´d love for you to help us out with daily tasks, like taking care of the house in the mornings after kids leave to school. Our 9 year old goes by himself and I or my husband walk the twins to school until they will start walking on their own. We´d expect that you bring the house to a better state after the morning rush hour of breakfast and getting ready for school and work. You'd then have some time during the time when they are at shcool to yourself. In the afternoons, you could sometimes help with picking the kids up from kindergarten ( but not always as we do that anyway) and maybe then play a bit with them, help out around the house with them while I shop or cook dinner. We will have some kind of routine but not everyday is going to be exactly the same.
Later next spring we are expecting another child. So we will need help with some cooking maybe and playing with the kids, but no help is needed with the little baby. We´d love for you to share your interests with the boys and also do with them what is fun for you!
