Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Future Au Pair,
we are looking for an independent, outdoorsy, fun- and dog-loving Au Pair with strong English and clean driver's license. Previous experience with young kids welcome.
The Au Pair Girl will need to share her time with our older daughter and become more an "elder sister" and may have to take a bit more care to the youngest one. They are very independent kids and need company!
The Au Pair will stay in the French countryside of the Haute-Savoie department, between Geneva and Alps. While we live in the countryside, the city of Geneva is nearby and easily accessible by car or bus.
We are looking for an Au Pair who would be with us from September 2020 to June/July 2021.

We are a family of 4+1 (Omlet, A big friendly dog). We have been in the Geneva region since 2007. At home, we mainly speak French, but also Polish and English.

Anna and Thomas are managers of international companies in Switzerland. Anna is Geneva, and Thomas in Zug (away during the week)
Lena is 9 years old. She is very lively and loves to have "activities": she swims, does judo, dances (modern Jazz and hip hop) goes to English drama classes and enjoys skiing. She is very sociable, is very easy-going, and considers herself like a pre-teenager. An Au Pair with some music skills would be welcome.
Mia is 6. She likes all sorts of creative activities such as drawing, painting, coloring. She needs attention, but can also play on her own for hours (sometimes with her dolls). She starts to be able to read, so is very keen on learning more.

They like screens, we don't, so we are trying to meet in the middle most of the time...

They both go to our village public school. They are independent, self-confident and have a great curiosity for cultures, science, geography, literature. They are bilingual French and Polish, they also speak good English.
While we need someone with English, our Au Pairs will be free to speak/learn French with us as much as she wants. We are very keen to help our Au Pairs to improve their French! (I am a native French speaker)

We live in a house with a big garden in the countryside, we are outside a lot. In the summer we hike in the mountains, organize BBQ, spend time with friends. In winter we go skiing almost every weekend. We are an active family and would, therefore, prefer someone who likes sports and outdoors.

Since Aug 2018 we have had a bloodhound, born in Jun 2018. His name is Omlet. Therefore our new Au Pair must be ok with dogs.

Our Au Pair will have four key jobs:
- to drive kids to/from school (clean driving license and driving experience are very important)
- to play with the kids after school and take them to their numerous activities.
- to speak English with the kids (very good knowledge of English is required)
- to take Omlet out for walks during the workdays (1x per day)

Some help around the house would be appreciated, but it is not a requirement; we do have a cleaning lady who comes in weekly.

Traits of character we would appreciate: mature, reliable, open-minded, patient (with kids), international and eager to travel, outdoorsy and sporty (the Au Pair is welcome to come with us for all sports activities, leisure, sightseeing, celebrations...).
Our Au Pair will have a separate studio (one bedroom, and her own bathroom) for herself with a separate entrance. She will have a car at her disposal during the week (and also often during the weekends) and will be able to attend (2x per week) an intensive French language course in a town nearby. The course has lots of other Au Pairs attending so making new friends is easy.

The Au Pair works Mon-Fri and has weekends off. She will be welcome to join us for daily/weekend trips, dinners at restaurants, etc, but there is no obligation if she wants their private time. We welcome our Au Pairs to integrate as much as they want to.
We pay a monthly allowance and contribute towards the language course. Accommodation and full board are on us too. The Au Pair car is at her disposal too. Au Pair covers travel to/from Geneva and health/accident insurance for the duration of stay.

As Geneva is central to Europe, the Au Pairs will be able to go to many places while staying with us: London, Paris, Zurich, Milan, Turin, Lyon, Rome, Barcelona, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Brussels, Edinburgh to name a few.

Girls who will have serious interest in our family will also get to contact our previous Au Pair in order to get their insights into the stay and experience.
