Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi future family! We are the s and we live in the state of Missouri and city of St. Louis. People who have not visited here before would be surprised by the amount of history here given its founding in 1764 by the French (pre-Revolutionary War!) and the imprint of French and German immigrants and architects over the centuries. In typical American fashion though, streetcars have been replaced by passenger cars as the primary means of getting around. However, we do have a decent bus system - with an important line running just steps from our house - that connects to our light rail line that runs east-west through the urban core and that can take you to many of the city's best attractions (City Museum, Arch, Forest Park, Art Museum, zoo, History Museum, airport, etc.). We also live in a walkable portion of the city close to one of the city's better multiethnic restaurant scenes. To top it off, we are just a few blocks away from the International Institute, which is a great location to take English-as-a-second-language classes.

Job Description

We are excited to have you look after our two sons during the work week. Our hope is that you could engage with them exclusively in your native language while playing with them around the house, taking them on trips to nearby parks and exploring the city and surrounding region more broadly, managing their daytime meals, and tucking them in for nap times. We also have a light (~45 minutes/day) curriculum that we would hope you could lead them through.

Accommodation

We have a third floor with a private bedroom and a bathroom just outside. The other room on the third floor is primarily used for storage, so while we may occasionally need to retrieve an item from the storage room, you will have the whole floor to yourself for the most part.
