Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

My wife Stephanie and I are working professionals who recently had our second child born Daphne in 10/2024. Our oldest Nicholas is now 2, and is in daycare. We originally had family helping with child care, but they have decided to move out. With that, we are looking to host an au pair who has Chinese language skills (similar to my wife and her family) so our children can continue to learn about their grandparents' culture.

We live near Monterey, California and about an hour south of San Jose. We make frequent trips to San Francisco and the occasional trip to Los Angeles, and would bring our Au Pair with us, showing them more of beautiful California.

We like to host many family events, BBQs, and travel throughout California. We would consider the Au Pair as part of our family, and would want them participate in all of the American Holidays (and some Chinese Holidays).

Job Description

We would expect the Au Pair to watch Daphne (she is a VERY easy baby) from around 0800 - 1600, Monday-Friday. Stephanie and I have ability to help on occasion, along with grandparents who are local; so during the average work-week, we'd need the au pair to watch Daphne for about 32 hours. We would also need a few hours help on the weekends.
