Greetings! We look forward to welcoming you to our family in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah!

We are looking for a second au pair to join our family and our four children, all of whom are full time in school and daycare. We live in an urban area, right next to the University of Utah, which offers many fun activities such as sports, theater, and classes. We are a short walk to many bus lines and bike lanes connecting the University with the downtown (about 2 miles away) and other parts of the region. We have a dedicated car for au pair use in free time. We are an active family and enjoy doing outdoor activities, such as skiing, paddleboarding, mountain biking, and hiking.

Job Description

We are looking for someone who wants to join our family and help the kids! Typical days include getting the kids ready for school in the morning, helping them with homework and activities after school, and doing fun activities with the kids on the weekends or when they are home from school. We have four children and have found that it can be difficult for one au pair to handle all of them, so we are looking for a second au pair to take turns with the children. During the day there is a fair amount of flexibility when the children are gone, and our current au pair uses the free time to go skiing during the day and explore the region.

The ideal au pair will be reliable, communicative, of good character, and active. We also want to encourage a level of independence and for you to explore the city and region. We do not expect to have a curfew provided you are alert and punctual for the children; however, we do expect a relationship of mutual respect, honesty, and good communication.

Accommodation

We live in a large home that is a short walk from the University of Utah, which offers many fun activities such as sporting events and theater shows. Our three older children take the school bus to go to school. We live next to many bike lanes, bus lines, and near a train stop connecting the University with the other parts of the region. We live about 2 miles from downtown Salt Lake City and a 15 minute drive to the Salt Lake City International Airport. We offer a dedicated car for au pair use that can be shared with the other au pair and used for daily activities and exploring the region on free time.

The accommodation is a large bedroom in the basement with several windows with some natural light. It is relatively secluded from the rest of the house and quiet, and includes a large couch with a television. At present, the bathroom in the basement is shared with the other au pair; however, we are preparing to renovate portions of the house that will include an additional bathroom in the basement, dedicated for the au pair's use.

The house is located in a beautiful area of Salt Lake City, next to a park as well as the University of Utah. There are many places to walk to, as well as public transportation providing ready access to the region.
