Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello!

I am the proud father of a wonderful and cheerful 2-year old girl, and we could use some extra help! We live in what we call a "kangaroo" residence, where I live with my daughter in the west wing and my parents live in the east wing. But the house is big enough for all of us. The mom lives about 12 minutes away from here, with her 10-year old son and their two cats. In practice, my little bundle of joy lives with me.

I live in upscale residential neighborhood, in a very safe and green environment. The beautiful garden is home to many different kinds of plants, trees, birds, fish and of course - my cat Chili. The closest and most beautiful city of Belgium, Antwerpen, is only 10 minutes away by car or about 25-30 minutes by bus. The city is really alive and many different kinds events are hosted here, there is always something to do. It is also a university city, has a very active fashion and diamond scene, and lots of musea. Belgium is often overlooked, because we are so small, but we have a lot to offer.

Job Description

I really strive to be a parent who's present and I enjoy spending time with her. So I get her dressed in the morning, we have breakfast together and then I take her to daycare. In the evening it's the reverse route, dinner, playing and then to bed. But life isn't perfect, so some days work or other obligations get in the way - and then I need to rely on the au pair to take over/assist.

But after 2 years of devoting my life to my child, I really need some me-time as well. So when she's asleep in the evening, I would like to be free to go to the gym or meet up with friends - knowing someone is there to care for her if needed.

So the your work will consist mainly of driving her to daycare, taking care of her personal hygiene, washing clothes, educational playtime with her, some cooking, feeding her, babysitting in the evening or night.

Local law does require you to take a language class during your stay, if you don't speak Dutch
