Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Au Pair,

We are thrilled that you'll be joining our family in Sevilla! We're looking forward to welcoming you into our home and are excited for you to become part of our daily lives. As a half-Swedish family, we're especially happy to have a Swedish au pair who can help our children grow up hearing and learning the Swedish language in a natural way.

Our home is located in Simon Verde, a quiet residential area about 15 minutes from the center of Sevilla. We recently renovated our house last summer, and it includes a lovely pool in the garden. You'll find it's easy to get into the city center by bus or metro whenever you'd like to explore the beautiful city of Sevilla.

Leo, our energetic and curious little boy who will be turning two in July, is looking forward to having a new friend to play with! Our baby Filip, born on February 1st, is just getting to know the world. We believe you'll find joy in watching them grow and being an important part of their early development.

We hope your time with us will be enriching both for you and our family. We want you to feel at home here, and we're excited to share our Spanish culture with you while you help bring more Swedish language and traditions into our children's lives.

Warmly,
Cristina, Nacho, Leo, and Filip

Job Description

Your main responsibilities will include picking up Leo from preschool (using our automatic car), taking him to the park, preparing dinner, giving him his bath, and keeping his toys and belongings organized. You'll also help maintain a Swedish-speaking environment for both children. The typical work schedule would be 9-10:30 AM and 4:30-8 PM, with free time in between to study Spanish or pursue your own interests. Occasionally, we'll ask you to babysit in the evenings when the children are asleep so we can go out for dinner, and sometimes we might need full-day childcare on weekends for special events. We'll also ask you sometimes to participate in daily common chores like cooking for all. We prefer someone who is proactive, communicative, responsible with the children's care, and respectful of family space while still being comfortable participating in family life.
