Hello and greetings from Seville in Spain! I'm Richard and my wife is Marta and we are looking for an au pair from Ireland to take care of our wonderful daughter Aisling, who is 2 years old and the sweetest thing ever! We are both language teachers. We are based in a suburb of Seville, 5 minutes walk from the station (2 stops, 10 minutes to Seville city center), with bus links to the city centre and the airport 2 minutes walk away.
We are looking for someone who will look after and enjoy spending time with Aisling for a minimum of 6 months. I am Irish/English and my wife is from Spain, so both languages are spoken in the house, but we would like her to get plenty of English practice. I have ties in Dublin and Kerry and we spend summers in the Kingdom when we can. We are warm, welcoming people and can offer excellent living conditions, with full board included.
I myself am a Spanish teacher and my wife is bilingual so this will be a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop their language skills without the anxiety of not understanding anything! I can offer some free language classes in between my work.
You will be looking after the girl in the evenings during the week until bedtime (8-9pm) and then during the day one day per weekend. We will give two days off and of course you will be free until 3-4pm when she finishes nursery. The total number of hours would be 30.
I love sport and we enjoy days out, movies, eating out, the usual!
Obviously Seville is a wonderful city and you will be able to enjoy all the beautiful things the city has to offer. I often drive to the beach at weekends to surf (Cádiz), so if this is an interest, you will be welcome to join, or just spend the day at the beach with Marta and Aisling. If you are a fan of GAA, I can put you in touch with Seville Og, the local GAA team, who have men's and women's team and offer a great social scene for young ex-pats - I can speak from experience! They run trips around the country and it's great fun. I can also recommend language schools if you want to do a course and have some contacts at a good school.
