Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi! Welcome to our family. We are a young and welcoming family with a newborn baby girl on the way, and 2 adorable shepherd dogs. We live in Short Hills, New Jersey. Our home is on a lovely quiet street about 15 min. Walking to the local train station. The station offers a direct express train with service into NY Penn station in 35-40 minutes. Our home is about a 5 minutes drive to the downtown of Summit NJ or Millburn NJ - both lovely centers with shops, restaurants, and cafes. There are many grocery stores also close by. Our town is well known for its quiet suburban charm, but also lovely parks and recreation. There are hiking trails about 5 minutes away. We are also members at a private club that offers a swimming pool and tennis court access in the summer and early fall. We would love if you can drive so you can explore the beautiful area. The proximity to NYC is amazing and would offer a nice balance of living in a comfortable home while also getting to explore all the city has to offer in your free time.

Job Description

We are looking for an Au Pair or Granny Au Pair who can generally help with both basic household tasks and childcare during the week. Household tasks include: grocery shopping, light cleaning of communal spaces, laundry, and feeding the dogs. It would be nice if the Au Pair can help prepare meals but it’s not a requirement.
We’d like some assistance with our child during the day, we have an infant and would need help with diaper changes and feedings, as well as keeping to nap schedules. Family/mother will be available and working from home, and will be available for assistance with child related care/ questions, if the au pair needs assistance.
We would also want an Au Pair who is comfortable being around dogs. Our 2 dogs are very friendly but may need to be let out into the yard throughout the day. No additional walks are required, unless the Au pair would like to take a dog for a walk.

Accommodation

Au Pairs will have their own private room and bathroom in our house. Our house includes WiFi. The home is spacious and comfortable, with a separate back entrance as well as a separate family room for relaxing and watching TV. We also have a Thermomix in our kitchen which is great for cooking new types of dishes.
