Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear future Au Pair!

We are a multi-cultural, open-minded and open-hearted family, who is looking for some support :) We would very much like to welcome a young person from a different country, staying with us and enriching our every day life with her culture and language.

Our home is located in a small town called "Simbach am Inn" in lower Bavaria, Germany, very close to the Austrian border and not far from the Alps. Our house is located at the outskirts of the town in a peaceful neighbourhood and includes a big garden with fruit trees and a vegetable garden.

During your free time, you can participate in a German language course in Simbach, enjoy nature, go on a bicycle tour alongside the river Inn or visit one of the nearby lakes for swimming in summer, meet other young people in the town... If you are interested in city life, you can take the train to Munich (about 1,5 hours distance). Unfortunately, there is almost no public transport in town, but we will offer you a bicycle and since it's only a very small town, everything necessary (supermarkets, shops, language school, bars and cafés) can be reached by walking. If you have an international driver's license, you can also use our car occasionally :)

We are looking for someone who is friendly, open and tolerant, responsible and enjoys being with children!

Job Description

We own a restaurant and our working hours mostly don't match with the children's times at kindergarten and school. That's why we need your support especially in the evenings and at the weekends.

This means taking care of Maya and Samira, giving them dinner, getting them ready for bed and putting them to sleep. Of course we will assist you at the beginning, but you should be comfortable with the idea of staying alone with them after some time, whenever you and the children feel ready for it. Miriam's parents are living close by and can also help out if needed.

It would also be great if you could bring or fetch the children from school or kindergarten on some days of the week. Your free days will be Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday. School and kindergarten are both within walking distance from the house. We would apprecciate some help with light household tasks as well, like cleaning the kitchen or helping with the laundry, but your main responsibility is babysitting.

Accommodation

If you are planning to stay with us, you will have your own spacious, simple but cozy bedroom with Wi-Fi and an attached kitchen for yourself. There you can keep and prepare your own food, but of course you are always welcome to share the meals with us. Your rooms are on the second floor, the family's rooms are on the first, so have your own private space.

Unfortunately, we can't offer you your own bathroom, but you can always use our bathroom, which of course can be locked and contains shower, bath tub and toilet, and there is also an extra toilet on the first floor.

We will provide you with your own bycicle so you can get around the town more easily. There are German language courses offered in town, which we will naturally pay for.
