Welcome Letter to the Au Pair
Dear Applicant,
We are looking for an experienced nanny to care for our 2-month-old son and assist with household tasks and other responsibilities. Our primary residence is in Bulgaria, but we spend up to 5 months a year traveling in Western Europe for work.
About us:
In Bulgaria, we live in a centrally located apartment in a prestigious neighborhood in Sofia, near a metro station. We also own a house in a popular ski resort. When traveling, we stay in private apartments or hotels.
Our Requirements:
1. Experience in working with young children: You must have proven professional experience in caring for babies or toddlers. This includes practical knowledge in infant care such as feeding, diaper changing, sleep training, and handling developmental challenges.
2. Experience as a nanny/household helper: Previous experience as a nanny or household helper in a family is essential. Ideally, you have at least two years of experience and are familiar with the expectations of demanding families. Candidates with international experience are preferred.
3. Developmental concepts: We expect a clear plan to support the cognitive, motor, and emotional development of a baby. Ideally, you have training or certifications in early childhood development, education, or Montessori pedagogy. You must be able to create age-appropriate activities and routines that provide structure and security for the child.
4. Hygiene and organization: You should demonstrate a high level of care and professionalism to maintain a clean and safe environment for the child. This includes thorough cleaning of toys, care items, and sleeping areas, as well as managing household tasks such as laundry and preparing simple, healthy meals.
5. English proficiency: Excellent English skills, both spoken and written, are required to ensure smooth communication with the family and effective interaction with the child. Additional language skills in Bulgarian, German, or French are advantageous but not mandatory.
6. Long-term commitment: We are looking for someone who can commit to at least five years and is ready to build a trusting relationship with our family. Flexibility and adaptability to various working environments, such as an apartment, a house, or while traveling, are also important.
We kindly ask applicants who do not meet these criteria to refrain from applying. In your application, please clearly outline your qualifications according to points 1 to 6, including relevant documentation.
