Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Our Dear Future Aupair,
We are looking for a part-time Helper (20-30hours/wk) to stay with us for 3 months (or more) starting sometime over the winter.
We are a small family of 4 living in an all-American suburb in central New Jersey in the NYC area. This is a perfect position for someone wanting to make the best out of her shorter or longer stay, while also experiencing American life and being a part of our family. The job here is not hard and you will have A LOT of free time to explore New York.
We are close to a sweet town with a happening Main Street, a big Mall and within a walking distance to a College where you can take regular credited college classes as well as English. The college also has a bus stop that connects all neighboring towns, the Mall, train station (to Manhattan). There are plenty of Aupairs in area and we always try to set you up with friends before you even get here!
We are an hour long train ride away from NYC and Philadelphia.

Job Description

YOU MUST BE AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER!!!

We are looking for the best of both worlds! A girl who is really excited to be a part of the wonderful cultural exchange experience that being an aupair is all about, and we are thrilled to welcome you into our family and show you around and be your safe space from which you can explore and learn. In return we are looking for someone with maturity and dedication to treat and care for our family and home as if it was her own.

Help is needed with John mostly, taking care of him before school, Lea needs to be drive to school at 7:40am and John at 8:30am. After school pickups are 3pm for Lea and 3:45 pm for John. Obviously preparing food for the kids, playing. Child related housework (only John’s laundry, most of household dishes, keeping the house tidy and functional) will be required. The perfect candidate should also enjoy cooking and have some cooking skills, be able to follow directions and be a team player.
Basic working hours are as follows -
7-9am & 3-6pm
A few hours on Saturdays might be needed, but not every Saturday and we are very flexible with you taking a long weekend or days off for trips, or adjusting the hours somewhat if you were interested in finding another part time job.

Sara is in High School and doesn’t need any care, but will be happy to share crazy teacher or sports coaches stories with you! She play lacrosse and field hockey and is a sweet girl who loves hanging out with her friends and her little brother ❤️.

Compensation we provide based on 25hour work week is $100/ week, room&board, PERSONAL CAR WITH PAID INSURANCE AND GAS.
We also provide a performance BONUS $ at the end of your stay. Be amazing and it will be amazing also!

You will be staying on the lower level of a split level home. You will have a private bedroom with a cozy living area and kitchen nook (with fridge/freezer, kettle, microwave, toaster oven, etc) and big sliding doors that open into a beautiful expansive backyard.
