Hello dear Au Pair,

we're a friendly, loving, international and maybe a bit unconventional blended family, living in a huge house with a beautiful large property in the West of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, close to the Dutch border. We live in the countryside, but, if You prefer to stay in a (big) city, we can offer You to use our flat in Düsseldorf during Your leisure time! Nevertheless, some smaller cities can be reached in a few minutes by car or bus, and the larger cities, like Duisburg, Krefeld and Düsseldorf, can be reached within 30-60 minutes by car or train. Our (host) family consists of the two of us as parents, a twelve-years-old daughter and an eleven-years-old son of my partner out of his first marriage and our common daughter, who is 16 months old right now.
Your helping hand could be needed primarily for our baby who starts learning to speak these days and shall learn to speak different languages right from the beginning. Our favourite language, that we would like You to speak with her, was Polish, for she has many relatives in Poland who don't speak foreign languages at all. But, if You don't speak Polish, You can teach her English instead! With me, You can communicate in Polish or German language and to all other members of the family in German or English language, as my partner is German-American by birth and therefore has grown up bilingual, too.
Except from taking care of and talking to the baby, there's plenty of things You can do in our place, but You don't HAVE TO! You don't have to cook, You don't have to tidy up and You don't have to look after the older kids, unless You expressively wish to do so!
For Your leisure time, You will find a small gym and a boxing ring inside our house as well as different motorized and unmotorized vehicles that You can use outside. If You have a driving license, You can certainly use them outside our property as well.
