Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello, we are the Walsh family. We live in a VERY remote, boat access only community on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. We are located on the waterfront on the pacific ocean.

We live in a beautiful wilderness setting in the coastal rainforest of British Columbia. We are currently building an offgrid eco tourism resort, opening spring of '26.

We are about a 3 hour drive from the nearest city centre, so any applicant must enjoy isolation. We only visit the city about once every 5-6 weeks.

We have world class surfing, wildlife viewing, hiking, fishing, mountaineering and paddling right at our doorstep.

We must stress that THIS IS A VERY REMOTE WILDERNESS LOCATION. Applicants must enjoy the OUTDOORS and must NOT EXPECT ANY NIGHTLIFE/SOCIAL SCENE outside of our small community.

Accommodation

We have a spare room in our 3 bedroom house. Room which is approximately 10sq meters with a queen bed. There is no private bathroom. Just 1 bathroom for the household. We do have wifi via starlink satellite
