Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We’re so excited to welcome you to our loving family in St. Augustine, Florida! We’re the family: William (dad), Christina (mom), Olivia (almost 10 years old), and Skylar (3 years old). As a close-knit LDS family, we value faith, family, and creating joyful memories together. We can’t wait to share our home with you and learn about your culture while you become part of our daily life.

Our home is in a peaceful neighborhood in St. Augustine, just a short drive from the city center—about 10 minutes by car. Public transportation in our area isn’t the best, and there isn’t a bus stop close to our house, but we’re happy to drive you anywhere you’d like to go, whether it’s exploring the city or visiting the beautiful beaches we love. If you’re interested in improving your English or taking classes, the closest language school is Flagler College’s English Language Program, about 3 miles away in downtown St. Augustine—we’d be glad to give you a ride there.

We’re looking forward to building a warm relationship with you and supporting you during your time in the USA. We hope you’ll feel right at home with us as we share our faith, love for the outdoors, and family traditions.

Job Description

We’re seeking a caring au pair to join our family and help with our two daughters, Olivia and Skylar. Your main role will be assisting with childcare, including helping Olivia with her morning routine and school drop-off/pick-up (her school is a 10-minute drive), and playing with Skylar during the day.

You’ll also help with light household tasks like tidying up the girls’ play areas and preparing simple snacks. We typically need support for about 35-40 hours per week, with flexibility for family activities or church events.

Since we’re an LDS family, we’d love for you to be Mormon or very familiar with our faith, respecting our values like modesty, no alcohol or coffee, and Sabbath observance. You should be comfortable joining us for family prayers and church activities.

Fluency in English is important to communicate with our girls and fit into our daily life. We are looking to make a long-lasting family friend, not just an employee. We’re happy to drive you wherever you need to go, and Uber (We pay a monthly transportation allowance as well, for your days off, during the day, someone will always be available to drive for you) and public transportation is also available. Most importantly, we want someone kind, patient, and excited to be part of our family!
