Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are a Canadian/Argentinian family living in rural Australia for over 2 years now. Our town has a population of about 6000 people, and are located about 2h30 from Melbourne (which can be reached via public transport). We are at the base of the beautiful Grampians National Park which offers plenty of outdoor activities. Our son is turning 4 in April and "speaks" French, Spanish, and English (more like a jumble of all 3), and is very energetic. He goes to kindergarten and daycare full-time. We are looking for an outgoing, confident, and active au pair for a 3-4 month stay as one parent will be travelling for work. The expected work will be around preparing easy meals for our son, kindergarten drop offs & pick ups, and light household tasks. Occasional baby-sitting might be on the cards as well, to be negotiated. We are happy to share some outdoor fun as well, as we are avid rock climbers, bush walkers, and cyclists. Looking forward to chatting more!

Job Description

Tasks will include preparing breakfasts in the morning and helping with dinner. Leon also needs help getting dressed, and enjoys supervised play time and bath time in the evenings. There will be also some light housework, such as laundry for Leon and helping him tidy his room. Weekend work is negotiable. As the daytime will be free for the au pair, we are happy for them to get a part-time job locally if that suits them.

Please note: Due to the short time frame from now to the expected start date, we are looking for someone who already has an Australian Working Holiday visa.

Accommodation

We have an independent home walking distance to the town center. There is a public but that runs during the day, about every hour, and there is public transit between towns (though not frequent). We also have bicycles available. We have a spare guest bedroom with its own bathroom attached for use by the au pair.
