Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are a family living in Stevensville, Ontario—a quiet, friendly town nestled between Buffalo, New York, and Niagara Falls, Ontario. It’s the perfect balance of convenience and tranquillity—close enough to the city for easy access, yet far enough to enjoy peace and quiet. We're approximately 15 minutes from Niagara Falls, 30 minutes from Niagara-on-the-Lake, 1.5 hours from Toronto, and 3.5 hours from Muskoka.

We’re just a 30-minute drive from Niagara College’s Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses for those interested in language courses. While public transportation in our town is limited, taxis are available, and when possible, we’re happy to drive you to a nearby bus or train station so you can explore at your own pace. If you’re staying locally, we sometimes work from home, meaning a vehicle may occasionally be available during the day.

We’re looking for someone who can seamlessly fit into our busy family life. With four kids, a business, full-time jobs, sports, and a home that always seems to need something, life is nonstop! In exchange for your help and support with our daily routines, we promise to do everything possible to make your time in Canada an incredible experience.

We look forward to meeting you!

Job Description

We’re looking for someone who can seamlessly fit into our busy household with adaptability and a positive attitude. Every day is different, so we need someone who can go with the flow, handle the ups and downs of family life, and step in where needed.

Energy and enthusiasm are key. We love the outdoors, and our kids are active, so you should enjoy engaging with them and keeping up with their energy. At the same time, reliability and responsibility are essential, as you’ll be an important part of our daily routine.

Above all, we want someone kind, flexible, and willing to help with meals, tidying up, and shuttling kids to activities. In return, we’ll do our best to make your time in Canada enjoyable and welcoming. We look forward to finding someone who feels like part of our family!

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Morning Routine (7:30 AM - 10:30 AM)

• Helping get the kids ready for school and onto the bus
• Preparing and packing school lunches (if the kids fall behind)
• Light tidying up once everyone is out the door

Afternoon/Evening Routine (3:30 PM - 8:30 PM)

• Assisting with meal prep and dinner
• Helping with homework
• Taking kids to sports and/or staying home with a few of the kids while we run the others to sports and activities
• Helping maintain a clean and organized home

Occasional Weekend Support

• Now and then, a couple of hours on Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings as we like to visit the gym and also have cleaning and work we do at our business
