Welcome Letter to the Au Pair
Originally translated from Deutsch
Hello dear future au pair,
we are the family with Nia (2 years), Jo (1 month), Patrick + Nele (40 years), plus Labrador dog Momo (7 years).
We live in our own house right next to the forest with a large garden and a great view over the city.
Patrick and I are self-employed with our own companies.
Patrick has an engineering office, I have a fashion label.
As there is always a lot to do, we are looking for support in everyday life with the children.
Patrick drives Nia to kindergarten every morning at 7.30am (after taking Momo for a walk in the woods) and she stays there until 3.00am - except on Mondays, which is Grandma's day and Nia doesn't come home until the evening.
So far, Jo has stayed in the home office with Nele or goes to work with her in the atelier in the city center on some days.
Nele works Mondays to Fridays from around 9:00am to 2:30pm and then picks Nia up from kindergarten.
Patrick works full time and comes home between 5/6pm.
In the afternoon we spend time in our own large garden, at playgrounds or meeting up with friends.
Weekends are family time, and we enjoy the free time at home or take a trip into nature.
We have never had an au pair before - so it is all new and exciting for us.
We are looking for a responsible, reliable and loving person who will have fun with our children.
It would also be important to us that you speak some German as Nia is just learning to speak and the language is very important for her now.
During your time with us (approx. 01.02.2025 to 01.12.2025) we would like you to be able to work 30 hours spread over 4-5 days per week.
Your tasks would include:
Taking Jo for a walk in the baby carriage and looking after him during the morning so that Nele can work at the same time.
Picking Nia up from kindergarten and looking after her in the afternoons.
Help with the household and cooking would also be great. But - we also have a cleaning lady who comes regularly:-)
A staircase leads to your own small living area, past your own washbasin and into the approx. 15 m² room with a view into the treetops. At night all you can hear is the wind in the trees and sometimes the owls calling. Sounds like a village? No, the city center of Stuttgart with around 700,000 inhabitants and everything your heart desires is only a 15-minute walk away.
Stuttgart offers a lively cultural life with many museums, libraries, concert halls, colorful nightlife, mineral baths and great views over the city.
We are curious and very open to other cultural influences.
We see it as an enrichment to have you with us and to welcome you as a new family member.
We will of course (if you like) take you along to all activities, so that you can get to know our life. We will also organize the daily routine so that there is enough time for your personal space and for your language course.
We look forward to getting to know you!
Patrick, Nia, Jo and Nele
