Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello! I'm a single mum to a wonderful baby boy (born October 2024) living on an idyllic farm with 9 horses, two dogs, a cat, and international volunteers. Together with my coworker I'm also running a small NGO called 'Konjeniški in mladinski center Škatlica' on the farm that focuses on providing equestrian opportunities to youth with fewer opportunities. I've found myself a bit overwhelmed with taking care of the baby, running a business and managing the farm and would really appreciate a bit of help with the baby! :)

Job Description

I've never hosted an au pair before and I'm not sure what is expected. Our volunteers work an average of 4-7 hours per day (depends whether they are part of European Solidarity Corps programme or via Workaway) and we all contribute to housework. As for the au pair, what I would really appreciate is babysitting a few hours so that I could work with the horses and help run our events, but as the baby is still very young, he of course requires a lot of mamma time. I would prefer for the au pair to work less hours in exchange for less pocket money at the moment (because I haven't been able to work, the money situation can be tight, but this will change).

Accommodation

We live in an old farm that I've slowly renovated in the last few years, with a big communal living room, kitchen, and terrace. You will get your own room (we have three guest rooms upstairs for volunteers, all renovated with natural building materials), access to the volunteers' car and we appreciate eating at least one daily meal together.
