Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello,

We are so excited at the thought of welcoming you into our family! We know that choosing the right family is a big decision, and we want you to feel at home with us from the very start.

We are a family of 4. My husband and I both work in Management. I’m French but I have been living in Ireland for over 22 years. We have 2 children - an 11 year old boy called Cayden who is in Primary school in 5th Class and a baby girl who is nearly 8 months old called Alyssia. We live in a 3-story-house in a lovely estate in a town called Swords. Swords is only a 10-minute-drive to the airport and 20 minutes to Dublin City Centre. Bus stops are only a 5-minute-walk from where we live.

Our home is filled with laughter, adventure, and plenty of love, and we can’t wait for you to be a part of it.

As our au pair, you’ll be more than just a helper—you’ll be like an older sibling to our children and a valued member of our family. We want you to feel comfortable, supported, and appreciated every step of the way. Your time here will be about sharing cultures, new experiences, and lots of great memories.

In return for your care and dedication, we promise to support you in making the most of your time here. Whether it’s exploring Ireland, trying new activities, or just enjoying everyday life, we want you to have an amazing experience.

Childcare Duties
• Supervising and engaging with the children
• Preparing meals and snacks for the children
• Assisting with homework and school projects
• Organising playdates and fun activities
• Light discipline and ensuring safety

Light Household Tasks (Related to Children)
• Tidying up children’s rooms and play areas
• Doing children’s laundry
• Washing dishes or cleaning up after meals
• Packing school bags and organising toys
• Keeping common areas clean and tidy

Cultural Exchange & Family Support

• Teaching the children some of their native language (if applicable)
• Sharing their culture and traditions
• Helping with occasional family errands (if agreed upon)
• Being a role model and a friendly companion to the children
