Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello, We are the Sisco's. We live in a mountain community called Bear Valley Springs in Kern County, California. We are looking for someone to join our home for the year. No week will be the same. We get snow in the winter, heat in the summer, and everything in between in the Spring and Fall. Our Grandson Hunter, age 5, has come to live with us and he keeps us on our toes. He is a high energy- all boy child. He loves trucks, dinosaurs, bugs, and super heroes. He will be starting Kindergarten in August.

Our community has a lake for kayaking (we own kayaks), trails for hiking, community swimming pool, pickle ball courts, and a recreation center with a gym. Our community has yoga classes, spring/summer pool aerobic classes, and pickle ball groups. We attend a nondenominational church on Sunday- you would be welcome to join us.

We are very active with family gatherings, we go to the Kern County Fair every year, and the beach a few times every summer. You will always be welcome to join us. We often have family and friends come- they stay in the guest room.

Job Description

Hunter would rather be outside collecting bugs and insects rather than learning his letters and numbers. The ideal candidate would work with Hunter after school with his numbers, letters, and writing. Also, making dinner during the week would be an important duty because we own a business which requires our time in the evening. The bedtime routine- getting Hunter bathed, read to nightly, and in bed would be very helpful. We would also like the Au Pair to speak Spanish to Hunter.

We employ a bi-weekly housekeeper and a monthly gardener. The Au Pair would be asked to help with daily dishes, and light cleaning duties that come up between housekeeping visits.

Hunter will always have some sort of extra curricular activity- currently T-Ball. This summer it will be swimming. This Fall it will be martial arts. The Au Pair would get Hunter to his after school activities and doctor appointments. Driving would be required.

Accommodation

The Au Pair would be staying on the third floor of our home across from Hunter's rooms. The bathroom upstairs would be primarily used by the Au Pair and occasional used by other family members. The second floor of the home is the main living area with kitchen, dining room, pool table room, and has an outdoor deck for outdoor cooking and entertaining. The first floor has a laundry room, guest bedroom, and a working office space. We are business owners and work from the home office nights and weekends. We have a high speed internet service in our home.
