Hello! We are the Family, and are dual citizens of the UK and the US (originally from England). My name is Maria and I am a physician-scientist and single mother to a wonderful and active child, Charlotte (“Charlie”). Charlie will be five years old in July 2025. Our family is very close and Charlie is an incredibly thoughtful and empathetic young girl. She loves to practice writing in her notebook, drawing, and playing soccer outside at the local park. Charlie is currently enrolled at the JCC in preschool and participates in weekly sports, including basketball, soccer, and gymnastics. She hopes to try out dance and martial arts as well next year. She is a cheerful girl who is always smiling. I work full-time during the week as a physician-scientist. We are very close to our family in Arizona and Charlie’s grandparents, aunt, and uncle live just 10 minutes away so they visit often. There is a chance we will be relocating to either Ann Arbor or Nashville in Spring 2025, where I might have the opportunity to start a new academic appointment as a physician scientist. We are excited about this potential opportunity, because we hear that both towns are beautiful with rich culture and great schools!
