Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Applicant,

We are a family of four with two boys, aged 3 and 5. We live in a small terraced house in the Böfingen district of Ulm. Both my wife and I have had the privilege of living abroad for several years, and we are excited to offer a similar opportunity to a young person like you.

Currently, Lily, an au pair from the U.S., is living with us. She will begin university in August, and we are looking for someone to take over her role. We would love to welcome you into our family and hope you are willing to integrate into our daily life, helping us with childcare during our sometimes hectic routine.

My wife works part-time as a physician (50%) at the city center, and I work full-time as a physician at the University Hospital in Ulm. Levi is currently cared for at the university's kindergarten, while Jonah attends the early years program at the International School in Neu-Ulm. Jonah has a lot of free time and vacation, which we are only able to cover to a limited extent. We hope you could help care for him during these times. Since Levi often wants to join in, there may be occasions when you would need to look after both children.

Ulm, known as the "smallest big city" in Germany, is located in the southern part of the country. It offers quick access to the mountains and is within a few hours' drive of Austria, Switzerland, and Italy. The city has a charming historic center, and being a university town, it provides many attractions for younger people.

We live in a residential area in a smaller end-of-terrace house with a garden on the outskirts of the city. Your room is 12 square meters and is located on the ground floor of the house. The window faces the garden. Next door, there is a guest toilet with a shower, which is available for your personal use.
