Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Originally translated from Italiano
We are a family of five: dad, mom, two children ages 3 years and 6 months, and a 7-year-old dog who is amazing. We live in a beautiful valley, a region they call "Soriana's Switzerland." In a small village surrounded by nature, it's a half-hour drive from the city of Soria. We can take you to Soria by car, and there's also a bus that runs three days a week: it goes early in the morning and returns at lunchtime. The language schools are there.

In summer, it's quite hot during the day, but not as hot as in other parts of Spain, and we have rivers and swimming pools nearby. It cools down at night and you sleep very well :) We are translators and would love an au pair to help us and also speak native English to our children.

If you have any questions, we're here to answer them <3

Job Description

Originally translated from Italiano
We don't care how old you are; we care more about gentle parenting with our children, not based on rewards or punishments, but knowing how to set limits calmly. And that you love nature. And if you have knowledge of active pedagogies (Waldorf, Montessori, Pikler, etc.), that would be incredible.

You would be with the oldest mostly in the afternoons, because the little one is still very young. Perhaps we would ask you to take him for a stroll in the stroller in the mornings. The oldest will be at school all morning from Monday to Friday, so in the morning we would also ask you for that stroll and help with some chores.

My husband might have to be away for a week due to work. In that case, I would need the au pair to take the oldest to and from school, and also to accompany him at night a little before bedtime, while I put the baby to sleep.

Pet care could simply involve including the dog on the walks. We like to take walks around the town and in the countryside, go to the river to swim, and cook delicious meals.

We have a garden that I don't know if we'll be able to grow this year, but it's another of our great hobbies.

Our life is simple and right now it's pretty much governed by the children's routine, especially respecting their bedtime. We have dinner early, like in Spain, around 8:00 PM. And when everyone is there, we eat early too, around 1:30-2:00 PM.

Accommodation

Originally translated from Italiano
The house is an old stone house, completely renovated (2023) and very comfortable and beautiful. It has a small front garden and a vegetable garden across the street.
There is Wi-Fi (fiber optic).
The house has two floors, and the au pair's room is on the ground floor. It has a queen-size bed, a wardrobe, and a nightstand. It also has underfloor heating with a cooling option (this is much appreciated on hotter days, especially during siesta time). We sleep upstairs, and both the older child and we have our own bathroom. Next to the downstairs room, there's a bathroom with a shower for the au pair, which we would only use to wash the child's hands before eating and brush his teeth.

In the village, there's a doctor, a pharmacy, a grocery store (with a fruit stand), a church (with mass on Sundays), and three bars and restaurants.

At night, you can see the Milky Way in the sky :)
