Hello to our wonderful future au pair. <3

We’re a family of four: Alana (Mom), Ed (Dad), Leo (5) and Casper (0).
We live in beautiful North Vancouver, Canada - close to mountains and beaches that provide lots of outdoor adventure, and to shops, restaurants, museums, theatres, and other activities that provide a rich cultural experience. We would provide a private room in our home, which is close to public transit and highly accessible by bike and car.

We are looking for an au pair because we need help! :) our children are wonderful and we love and really enjoy them. Your help will let us give each of them 1:1 attention, have the house not be too chaotic, and try to get some sleep so we can be our best selves for our family. :) I (Alana) was an au pair in Germany and had a wonderful experience, so we’re hoping to pay it forward to someone who is excited to come be of service to our family. We understand it’s a big leap of faith to move to a foreign country and live with strangers, and our children are very treasured by us, so it is important to us to find the right fit. We’re looking for a self-starter who is warm, loving, fun, kind, loves children, and willing to look for ways to take initiative to pitch in. We hope you will become part of our family.

We can be flexible on start date and duration. Ideally looking for someone willing to start asap and stay a while. :)

We speak English at home but can also get by in French, German, and Spanish (though perhaps a little rusty!). Communication is important to us so we’re looking for someone with strong language skills in at least one of these languages.

Hours will be 9am-1pm Monday or Wednesday (to be determined by us together), and 25 hours between 2:30-8pm Monday to Friday. We are offering room and board plus $250 CAD per week.

I (Alana) will be home most of the time in the evenings except Monday during the day when it will just be our baby at home, once we are both comfortable with that. Responsibilities will be to split the evening routine / jobs equally between us (playing with / looking after the kids, preparing and cooking dinner, tidying the kid’s items, unloading and loading the dishwasher, cleaning up after dinner, wiping the table and baby high chair, quickly sweeping / vacuuming up food mess, switching over the laundry, cleaning baby bottles and putting on the bottle sanitizer, doing bedtime, etc.). Successful for us looks like the kids happy and healthy asleep in bed and the house tidy by the time you sign off at 8pm (or sooner).
