Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are a small family that consists of the dad (Oscar, 42 years old, it-consultant), Anna (Mother 41 years old, farmer), Linnea (stubborn 4 year old girl) and Jakob (a bit sensitive but creative 8 year old boy).
We are looking for an aupair again because we think it's really fun to learn about different cultures and to show ours as well. The mother is also there but she is ill and not easy to say how involved she is. It varies.

We live on the country-side in the south-west of Sweden outside a town called Varberg about 40 minutes south of Gothenburg (and one of the first Ikeas).

Our days look like the following, the kids are at school and daycare 07:15->16:20. So the aupair normally picks up and leaves them. That leaves alot of free time during the weekdays. Most of the aupairs we have had has used this time to study or doing work that can be done online, but some has also just used the time to relax and enjoy life. Visiting places or maybe done some light cleaning.
After the kids have come home normally Oscar does the food and the aupair do things with the kids until its finished. If the aupair likes to cook once in a while Oscar appreciates it as he can spend some time with the kids. If the aupair want to help out with some light household chores its always welcome, but we normally say do as you would at home, how you would like your home to be. As it will be your home as well. Treat it like it while you are here. (some of them has redecorated in the aupair-house)

During the weekends we do different things depending on the weather. But mostly atleast one excursion. Since its the weekend the aupair can be free if they want to, but most often since we want a family-member and not a nanny they tag along as a big sister. We all help out with keeping track of the kids.
So a bit of flexibility is appreciated as we are a flexible family.

Sometimes the kids are with their mother but the schedule is not that clear as she is a bit ill.
For us its extremly important that the aupair wants to be a real family-member. Just having someone living in your house is just strange we think.
It's a small house, one bathroom but there is also a house (more of a room separate of the house) where the aupair normally live. And we try too have it that if the aupair is up there we dont disturb. Ofcourse if everything is chaos down in the house it might be that I call out a “please help”. (If the aupair wants to live in the house ofcourse we can rearrange a bit somehow)

I think that is the Nyman-family shortly presented. Feel free to ask questions or contact me by message or phone

Job Description

The job is simple. We need some unloading. Normally the kids are at daycare 7,30-16, so that time is all yours if you want to. During July daycare is closed and the days will be a little bit more demanding.
But we will still have focus on that you should learn our culture and experience Sweden. And of course doing your hobbies to the extent that's possible and we can make it happen.
As our life is quite flexible and a bit changeable it is needed that that is something that works for you as well. We will try to set the schedule during the weekend for the upcoming week and you will be a part of scheduling.
But in short, general help with the kids and to some extent the household.

Accommodation

We live in a by Swedish standards small house (98m2), but there is an extra house/room separate from the house that aupairs usually has stayed in if they wanted to (a bit more private, 20m2, but only a room, toilet and kitchen in main house).
Wifi and all that is ofcourse included.
In Sweden an onsuite-bathroom is not really common, and unfortunately at the moment we only have one bathroom in that house.
