!!! WE ARE HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND AN AU PAIR STARTING SUMMER 2025 AND ARE THEREFORE NO LONGER LOOKING AT THE MOMENT. WE WOULD BE HAPPY TO ACCEPT INQUIRIES FOR SUMMER 2026 !!!

We are a warm and welcoming family of four and value being kind to each other, mutual respect and strive to create a family-like atmosphere. You won’t just be a "helper," but a real part of our family, actively involved in our daily lives. We are open to new ideas and look forward to getting to know you!

If you're excited about supporting us with the children's daily activities, meal preparation, light household tasks, occasional dog sitting + babysitting in the evenings, creative activities with the kids and joining us for some time in the countryside by the lake – we’d love to hear from you!

Job Description

Your Responsibilities:
- Picking the children up from school (3 minutes walk)
- Preparing lunch and snacks for the kids
- Helping with homework and studying for school exams
- Taking the children to and from their afternoon activities (sports classes, etc., most of them within walking distance)
- Helping the children tidy up their rooms and organize their belongings
- Assisting with light household chores, such as small shopping for groceries, picking up the mail and running small errands (laundry, dry cleaner, etc.). We do have a cleaning lady helping us twice a week.
- Occasionally dog sitting (if we go out for a longer period, we may need help watching her)
- Providing general care and supervision for the children in the afternoons
- Occasional babysitting in the evenings when the parents are invited out or have appointments
- Creative activities with the children: We love cooking and baking and doing arts and crafts. If you enjoy being creative, it would be wonderful to spend time with the children on fun, hands-on projects like drawing, painting, DIY crafts or cooking and/or baking together.
- Keeping your room and bathroom tidy

What We Expect:
- Fluent in English and/or German (both spoken and written, min. Level C2)
- French skills and/or driving licence would be a bonus, but not a necessity
- Enjoyment in caring for children and experience in helping with their routines
- Ability to prepare (simple) meals for the children and assist with household chores
- A passion for cooking, baking and/or creative activities (arts and crafts, DIY projects) is a bonus
- Swimming skills
- Reliability, responsibility, honesty as well as an open mind and a positive attitude
- Interest in our culture and lifestyle
- A commitment of at least 12 months

Working Hours: 5 days/week (usually afternoons, shift to mornings during school holidays when we are working, occasionally in the evenings when the parents are invited out or have appointments)

Days off: 2 consecutive days/week

A flexible work schedule with plenty of free time for your own activities and relaxation, holidays included.

Accommodation

We are living in a central location in 1190 Vienna, Austria, with public transport, supermarkets, drug stores, restaurants, bakeries, a pharmacy, a book store and other everyday businesses & small shops as well as a beautiful park in walking distance. Our kids‘ school is around the corner. By public transport (tram: 37, D or underground: U4) you'll be in the city center of Vienna in no time. If you'd like, you can borrow one of our bikes.

Our home is located in a residential area and has a garden where we spend a lot of time, especially in the summer. There is space to relax, barbecue, etc.

You will have your own room (25 m2) with a private bathroom, WIFI and access to Netflix for your entertainment. In case you are interested in music: we have a piano and guitar.

During the summer/winter time (school holidays) we usually spend several weeks at our holiday home located in the countryside, near a beautiful lake, both being on holidays ourselves and working remote.

It's a peaceful and relaxing place, ideal for outdoor activities like swimming, hiking and enjoying nature. We would be happy if you could join us for this special time (when we are working remote) and help us with the children's routines in a more relaxed, holiday setting. It's a great opportunity for you to unwind and enjoy the serene atmosphere of the countryside!
