Work abroad in Mariya's family for 12-24 Months starting from Nov 2024 as an Au Pair to take care of 2 children of 0 - 1 year old & 1 - 5 years old in Vienna, Virginia USA

Hello, we are looking for someone to fit into our energetic and loving family. We are often the host for gatherings with friends and family, and are very active on the weekends with exercise, fun activities, and enjoying the outdoors when the weather is nice.

Our household is very tidy and runs on routine schedules for our young children. For example, our older son is in bed 7pm to 7am. He is expected to clean up his toys, feed the dog, and clean up his plate after his meals. As he grows, he takes on more responsibilities. Nap times are consistently at home and we cook large portion meals on Sundays to last us through most of the weekdays. On weekends, we enjoy walks or bike rides at local parks (we try to include our small dog Kiwi in these events), attending local carnivals or celebrations, working out, cooking meals, and seeing friends. Our general awake hours as a family are 7am to 10pm. We have house cleaners vacuum, mop, and dust our home twice a month. We upkeep dishes and laundry ourselves and eat most of our meals at home.

We welcome our Au Pair to join us for family and friend events any weekend for fun, and mainly need childcare taken care of during weekdays. We are flexible with our activities and would be happy to show the Au Pair around Washington, DC or go to any fun events happening around town.

Both parents work from home most days, but there are instances where one of us goes into the office or on an overnight business trip. For the first few months after your arrival, our older son will continue attending Russian-speaking daycare, usual hours are 9am-5pm, and we are looking to first adjust our family to a second child as well as the Au Pair to adjust to life with our family. We would like to explore the option of the Au Pair fully taking care of both children after we all settle into a new routine.

In an Au Pair, we are looking for someone who will mainly work Monday-Friday, can drive, enjoys physical activities like walking and biking, is interested in walking/playing outside for at least 1 hour each workday during the warmer months, teaches our children in a positive way, and takes care of many child-related cleaning (sterilizing bottles, childrens' laundry, warming up meals for children and cleaning after them). While we do not expect the au pair to clean our home or cook for us, we want them to be able to participate in our weekly Sunday family meal preparations, clean up after themselves (dishes/laundry/etc), and keep their bedroom and bathroom tidy.

We also want to enable any activities that might be valuable for the Au Pair to experience such as community or religious events, holiday celebrations, or any special planned events. We are happy to plan ways for you to fully enjoy your experience with us and in the US.

For the Au Pair space: we will give you a $$$ budget to decorate the bedroom beyond what you see in the photos so that you make the space your own. We will be likely replacing the desk and chair with a more compact option, but would be happy to adjust based on what your specific requests and needs are. The bathroom on the same floor is shared with the children, but you also have the option to use another bathroom in the house.
