Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are looking for an Au Pair to join our small but growing family in the North East of England. We live in a farmhouse in a small village (with a pub!) surrounded by horse and sheep filled fields.

We are looking for someone to help us around the house, nursery pick ups/ drop off and childcare in the afternoons as well as the occasional baby sitting. I run my own business from home, which can be quite demanding at times! So having someone around would be lovely. We will help you to gain whatever experience you are looking for from this process, wether it be to learn English or anything else. What I can say is that we would provide a happy, laughter filled home in the countryside. You will have your own bedroom and bathroom at the top of the house so you can have privacy and your own space.

We also travel around the country to visit family, in Devon and London - Which you are of course more than welcome to come to.

We are looking for someone kind, family orientated, who likes young children and are confident with them - And who likes dogs and the countryside!

Job Description

Our daily routine -
Jonny goes to work in the morning. We get up together to give Florence breakfast. I then go to work (at home) and potter around the house when time allows and then take Florence to nursery. When Jonny comes home, we put Florence to bed and then cook dinner and chill. We might have friends round for dinner or we go to dinner ourselves.

Florence goes to Nursery in Corbridge, she does 3 full days (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) and a half day on Wednesday. On the full days, Florence is collected at 3pm and the 1/2 day she is collected at 12pm. We will need you to care for her in the afternoons and on Fridays, which is her day off Nursery. This will be mainly made up of playing with her and taking her for walks, giving her tea, bath and bedtime. This won't be every night but every few nights.

Florence has a severe allergy to egg, for which she is undergoing treatment. She has to eat a dose of egg every day at the same time - c3pm. This mens at she is given the dose of egg as a snack. Florence has Epi Pens and we do not eat egg around her. We try are our hardest to eliminate any risk of a reaction - Which is why she is undergoing treatment.

We are looking for someone who is confident with children and is calm. The ideal candidate will thrive around young children, love the countryside, be relaxed in nature, brave and calm. This is the perfect setting for someone who loves farm animals and in particular horses.

Accommodation

We are live in a Farmhouse in the countryside, the house is in a village and it's 20 minutes from Newcastle centre. We also have lovely towns near by (Corbridge is beautiful!). The house itself has 5 bedrooms - On the top floor it has two bedrooms and a bathroom. One of those bedrooms will be yours, meaning you have a bedroom and a bathroom at the top of the house so you have your own space.

The house itself has a lovely walled garden and a slightly bigger wrap around garden. We also get dark skies. We are surrounded by fields, filled with horses and sheep. There is a local livery so if you like riding, you are more than welcome to get additional work there.
