Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello!

We are a French-Austrian family looking for an au pair to share our family life for 4 months or more. Our three older daughters (ages 6, 9, and 11) love nature, horses, artistic activities, crafts, or simply playing outside, listening to or reading stories, or even creating their own with their Playmobil. Our youngest, who is less than a year old, is very cheerful, loves sleeping, and enjoys falling asleep to rock music. The au pair will be responsible for the three older girls. The baby stays with mom.

Julien works for an international organization and travels frequently. Mariana is a psychologist and is currently on maternity leave.

We would like our children to strengthen their language skills. The au pair can play and read with the children in French or English. Daily assistance is also part of the program. This may include helping the children with their homework, driving them to their activities, motivating and assisting them with tidying up, or occasionally cooking or shopping. It is important to us that the au pair feels at home and becomes a part of our family life.

We live on the western edge of Vienna. Our house borders the Vienna Woods and benefits from the urban transport system, with a direct bus to the metro. We will be happy to help you find a German course, explore Austria, and continue pursuing your own interests once you're in Vienna!

We look forward to meeting you!

Job Description

The primary goal is for the children to learn French or English. German is spoken most of the time at home, and we would like the children to strengthen their French or English skills. Emma speaks both well, Zita understands, and Maite is just beginning.

Our au pair works approximately 20 hours per week. The tasks include:

Spending time with the children (reading, crafts, games, etc.)
Speaking French and/or English with the children
Helping with homework
Assisting with tidying up and household chores
Accompanying the children to their activities
Occasionally cooking or shopping
Babysitting or cat-sitting occasionally
The au pair is encouraged to share their experiences or ideas with both the children and the parents!

We value individuals who can take initiative, whether by offering spontaneous help or choosing activities to enjoy with the children.
