What will be your duties as an Au Pair in Spain? There is not right answer for that because your responsabilities will depend on your host family and on the contract you close with them. Every family has different needs and timetable, working hours and tasks may vary from family to family.

Make sure your free time, needs and wishes will be respected and discuss with your family every single issue that may be important for your Au Pair stay.

What can an Au Pair do?


  • Play with the children
  • Help with light housework (ironing, vacuuming, laundry)
  • Cook some light meals for the kids
  • Take / pick up the children from school or any other activity
  • Help the children with their homework
  • Help the children to get dressed
  • Prepare light meals for the children
  • Keep both Au Pair's and children's room tidy


What should an Au Pair NOT do?


  • Look after someone else's children
  • Clean non-shared rooms
  • Cook meals for the whole family
  • Look after pets
