Dear Host Family,

My name is Norma, and I am writing to you with great joy and hope to introduce myself as a candidate to be your Au Pair. For a long time, I have dreamed of sharing my life with a family in another country—learning about your culture, language, and daily life—while offering all my love, time, and experience in caring for your children. To me, this is not just a job: it is an opportunity to grow as a person, to connect with others through empathy, and to build bonds that go beyond borders.

I was born and raised in Bolivia, in a city called Cochabamba, located in the heart of South America. I come from a big, loving family, where I learned from an early age the values of respect, responsibility, and caring for others. I have several younger siblings whom I have lovingly cared for over the years—helping with homework, cooking for them, playing, listening when they felt sad or tired, and always making sure they felt safe and supported. This family experience became a true calling for me, and for the past three years I’ve been working as a nanny for different families, caring for children of various ages. This work has taught me not only how to manage routines, resolve conflicts, and meet practical needs, but also how to genuinely connect with each child—respecting their individuality, rhythm, and emotions.

I consider myself a patient, cheerful, responsible, and adaptable person. I truly enjoy engaging with children in stimulating activities like creative games, crafts, reading stories, going for walks, or simply talking about their ideas and feelings. I deeply believe that childhood is a crucial stage in life, and that the love, attention, and safety children receive during these years makes a lasting impact. That’s why I commit not only to basic care, but also to being a warm, respectful, and supportive presence in their lives.

In addition to childcare, I am happy to help with household tasks related to the children, such as tidying up their spaces, preparing simple and nutritious meals, organizing their things, and maintaining a clean and cozy environment. I speak Spanish as my native language, Quechua (an indigenous Andean language), and I have a basic understanding of English, which I’m eager to continue improving. If you would like, I’d be happy to share parts of my culture with your children—such as songs, stories, recipes, or words in another language—because I believe that cultural exchange is enriching for everyone.

I would love to be part of your family because I have a genuine interest in discovering new ways of life, learning through daily living, and offering the best of myself to those who open the doors of their home to me. I understand that every family is unique, and I promise to adapt to your routines, rules, and parenting style with respect, open communication, and a positive attitude.

I know that entrusting someone else with your children is not an easy decision.
