I developed an interest in both caregiver and nannying at avery young age.during my teenage years in my college vacation. Thats when I first took my first responsibility as a volunteer caregiver for my grandmother. Being a frail lady in her 80s, she was vulnerable and needed assistance with everything. Since I was always available unlike my parents who had full time jobs.i took up the responsibility to be her care giver. Some of the responsibilities were to make sure that she takes her regular medicines on time. Monitoring her daily meals .....Monitoring her blood pressure and sugar levels. Make sure she does some exercise so that she doesn't get more weak.shower her .change her beddings...change etc. And later I started taking responsibilities in taking care of my siblings and other organisations with the local daycares and the local host families in my country. Later I found an interest in working as an aupair outside my country. My first host family was from Bahrain ...I worked as a nanny.....and was taking care of their 3 kids. One was 5months baby and the 2 were 6 and 8years.and my responsibilities were to prepare their uniforms, prepare their regular meals, dropping off and too from school , help with their home, reading them story books .....accompanying them to their swimming lessons. Going to the park. Introduce them with new game activities ...I used to enjoy in my childhood...changing the baby dippers...tidying up and organising their rooms, had to make sure they are safe while playing either outside or inside the house. Not only taking care of the kids but I had to do some light duties as needed . Like cleaning and organising the house. Helping in cooking etc. My second host family was from Canada were living in Saudi Arabia. And I was volunteering as acare giver. During that period I was taking care of an elderly female patient with alzheimers and blood pressure not only that by was unable to walk .and during that period my responsibilities .....were preparing and serving her meals according to the I had to follow. Reminding her about the physical activities she was assigned to by the doctors. Monitoring her blood pressure and sugars. Keep her room well organised, neat and clean. Giving her massage. Ensuring that she took her daily medicines like insuline and other medicines on time. Accompanying her to hospital for scheduled medical check ups.etc.well working in those fields mentioned above .was agreat opportunity for me to exercise my passion and also learning how to work with different people at any kind of pressure .I learned how to be more patient..kind and empathetic...with both kids and elderly. It has has helped improve in both working and commutation skills.
