Carta a la familia

My name is Pompam, but most foreign friends call me “Pammy”. I am 25 years old but I will turn 26 years old in this April 2023, Thai girl from Surin where is in lower northeastern Thailand, also called Isan. I want to be your au pair! I have known for many years that I want to be an au pair aboard because I love spending time and working with children and also be fascinated in exchanging culture in other countries.

I come from a family of four: father, mother, older sister, and I. My father is police, my mother is a housewife and agriculturist. My older sister, 30 years old, is police like father. Moreover, I also have another 2 more sisters from Germany and we are all very close, still keep in touch and contact with each other because my family used to be a host family when I was in grade 11 and grade12.

I was born in Nakhon Nayok, one of the central provinces of Thailand, northeast of Bangkok, and then moved to Surin when I was 8 years old. Normally, most people call Surin is “a land of the elephant”, it is clearly the city of elephants without any doubt. Whether you are looking out of your window while traveling here, you will see elephants roaming around through the spectacular features and scenery of this province.

In my family, we are often on the move and always trying to get new experiences. We also have two cats in our house named Aufu and Mali and we all love animals such as dogs and cats, food, cooking, and our common favorite is traveling. We have been traveling a lot, and I have always been inspired by that. Now I think, it is time for me to go on my own and new adventure. So, what could possibly be better than combining taking care of children and living abroad for a year or two?

Experiencia con niños

When it comes to my child care experience, I have looked after for children in both formal and informal contexts. I have taken care of 3 boys, Phum is 4 years old, Trin is 3 years old, and another one Pee is 2 months old as a babysitter. Especially during our free time, we do many activities together: drawing, painting, coloring, singing, dancing, reading stories, and doing homework. On weekdays, I also drop them off and pick them up from school. Not only taking care of them but also teaching them to be good boys and do good manners to people.

As my part of university life, I have experience as an English tutor for two children, Ice and New, aged 10-12 years old from 2018 to 2020. I always go to the appointment place for teaching before starting time in order to have more time to chat continuously and aimlessly about what happened each day or life at school and while studying, we will not make it too stressful but choose to enjoy with it. As a tutor, it helps me improve and develop myself with responsibility, patience, flexibility, enthusiasm, reliability, and empathy.

In addition to the previous experiences, I have trained and volunteered as a babysitter and an English teacher at Thansarin Nursery (Thanyaburi, Klong6), the ages of 3 months to 7 years old full-time from September 20, 2021 to February 28, 2022, and after that, I have been doing as a part-time until the present. My responsibilities are teaching English, changing diapers, dressing for children, assisting them with their snacks, drinks, and meals as needed. Moreover, I also organize and engage in educational activities and take part in entertaining indoor and outdoor activities: we sing, dance, play games, role play, draw, paint, narrate stories. So, I can comfortably say that I sincerely enjoyed spending time with children.

A year in the US would be wonderful for me, to gather experiences, to make new fantastic memories, to get a new family, to spend time with the kids, and the opportunity to discover a new country. I want to learn about your culture and teach you some of mine too.
