Dear host family,

First I want to thank you for reading my letter and giving me the chance of introducing myself.
My name is Marie, I live in Germany and I am 20 years old. I am living with my father and my grandmother in a small house in north-Rhine-Westphalia.
My family is a very important part of my life and I can do a lot of great things with them. I'm looking forward to do awesome things and trips with you too.
I would like to get to know your every day life. I would like to learn more about traditions in your country and family.

I would describe myself as an open-minded and friendly person. I unfortunately am an only-child, but I always enjoy when my little cousins visit. I’ve helped a lot babysitting them when they were younger.
Furthermore I love to travel and I have seen a lot of countries. I’ve been an exchange student in the USA in 2021. I was located in Nebraska and went to the local Highschool and received a Highschool diploma from my American Highschool.
I am aware of what living in a host family can feel like. I’ve felt the ups and downs myself, so I got stronger and learned a lot of it.

I’ve gained experience as an aupair in friendly families in Luxembourg and France. I taught the kids both German and English.
I also worked in a “tutoring school” for 7 months, where I was helping kids with math, English and German. All of the kids’ mother tongue wasn’t either German or English so I’m used to teaching/helping kids learn a new language from scratch.

In my free time I like to meet friends, go to the cinema or go shopping. I also like singing, doing yoga and being creative.
Since 2018 I volunteer in my local church community. I lead the youth club for a short period of time. I went on trips with the kids and looked after them at the age of 15 and 16.
My favorite subjects are French, religion and English. I am really interested in learning languages and
that's why l started teaching myself Spanish and the German sign language.
Right now, I am looking for a new host family that would like to welcome me as a member of the family. I graduated the German Highschool in 2023 and received the best school leaving qualification.

I think that as your au pair, I could offer you an insight to the German culture. I would love to cook some traditional German dishes and bake Pastries for you. And for sure l would like to show you my favourite German songs and movies.
