I've been an au pair for a family in France where I was responsible for their 8 year old for four months and I loved it and can't wait to experience it again. I have also been babysitting kids in my neighborhood for the past 4 years with family sizes ranging from 1-5 and ages 5-12. When I babysit I help prepare meals, help the children with their homework, and most importantly make sure that they are safe and having fun. This summer I worked at an overnight camp in Canada called Camp Wabanaki where I was paired with another counselor and was responsible for a cabin of 8-12 girls ages 7-16. I also lead camp-wide activities for all campers regardless of age or gender which include sailing, kayaking, biking, archery, and arts and crafts. In the two months I was there I also took the campers on 3 different outtrips 3-5 days each, where we canoed around different rivers and lakes reaching new campsites each night and teaching wilderness safety, campsite knowledge, and experienced everything that nature has to offer. I love working with kids as they always keep me on my toes and my days are never boring as long as they are around. I can't wait to become an au pair again and experience new cultures along the way. I am more than happy to try my best to learn the basics of a new language before I arrive, and would continue my learning there so I can help your family out in the best way possible.
