Hello future host family.

My name is Milena, I'm a banker, I'm 27 years old.

I have a degree in Environmental Management, a course chosen because I care a lot about the causes of the environment and sustainability and despite having this training I work as a Banker at Banco Itaú in the AGRO area.

Since my younger sister was born I felt an inexplicable love for children within me and this awakened a love that was unknown, since then I have taken care of my brothers, since they were babies, and an autistic child, Achilles, aged 3, soon , an opportunity to become a Nanny, do what I love and have contact with a different culture caught my attention.

I live in the greater city of São Paulo, with my mother and my four pets. I have 3 brothers, two little ones, aged 6 and 8, and a 30-year-old sister who is a teacher and has a beautiful 4-year-old daughter. my mother takes care of the home and my father is a retired police officer. We are a very close-knit family and we are always enjoying time together going to parks, the pool, restaurants.

I am calm, responsible, very communicative, adaptable, loving and honest person. I always like to have a pleasant atmosphere wherever I am.
I am always proactive, I like to feel useful, so if there is a problem I will want to solve it.

My native language is Portuguese, but since I was a child I have always had a lot of contact with Spanish, so I can understand everything in Spanish, both listening and reading, but I still have difficulty speaking. I have a pre-advanced level of English, because as soon as I graduated from school I took the course to learn English and despite not having traveled outside the country to practice, I always meet foreigners on my trips and I take the opportunity to practice English, so I can talk without difficulty. I can understand a little Italian too.

I see the au pair exchange as an excellent opportunity to show my culture to the host family, how to learn from their culture. I love children and the fact that I can care, teach and be part of a child's story and still be able to live in a different place, leave my comfort zone and live with a different family attracts a lot of attention to me. I believe it is something that marks my life and the life of my family. I really want to take advantage of this experience to improve my English and soon be able to apply to a university in Europe after completing the exchange.
