Dear Family,

My name is Princess Margarette. I am a 24 year-old. I come from Cavite, Philippines. I am currently here in Oegstgeest, Netherlands as an au pair. This is my first experience to be an au pair. The host family has four member: mom, dad, two host kids which are 6 years old and 4 years old, girl and boy.

I come from a family of 6: my parents, Lorna and Roberto, were former overseas Filipino workers. I have one sister and two brothers. My eldest sister Cherry Lou, is 37 years old and a teller in Taiwan. My older brother, 34, is an architect and my younger bother, 20, is a college student.

I am a graduate of Bachelors of Science in Radiologic Technology. It is a general term applied to the allied health profession that encompasses the use of ionizing radiation (x-ray), sound or radio waves, radioactive substances to produce an image, and magnetic imaging. These resultant images are used by the radiologist to help in making a diagnosis. During my internship days (for one year), I had work with both private and public hospitals that include handling children patients. After that, I also worked as Customer Service Representative for the past 8 months which developed my communication in English.

I have helped my brother look after his children. I was nevertheless much more involved in caring for them on a daily basis like changing their diapers, cooking meals, bathe them, and play with them. In addition, my two nephews, also spend a lot of time playing with their neighbour's two children Miguel and Matthew ( aged 6 and 8 years), so from time to time I find myself in their ever animated company. I can comfortably say that I sincerely enjoy spending time with children.

While here in Netherlands, I help with the lighthouse works and taking good care of the kids. I usually play with them with the lego, loombands, boardgames, etc. We also love baking. It is such a nice experience. I am inlove with the host family. I hope that you will also give me a chance to be part of yours.

When it comes to my free time, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy being outdoors, being with my friends, going for walks, visiting places I have not been to, and reading a good book. I also enjoy painting and on dull or rainy days, I often propose drawing and painting activities to my younger brother and nephews whenever they come for company. Did I already mention that I love gardening? I plant vegetables like tomatoes and Chinese cabbage in our backyard.
