We have had au pairs before and what works best for us is having someone who becomes part of our family - we look forward to sharing our lives with you, and supporting you as you explore your new home and figure out what comes next. It's important to us that our relationship with you is a two-way street so we will ensure that you have enough time to pursue your own interests and hobbies.

We are a busy family so need someone who is organised and adaptable because our schedules can change month to month. Our son will attend pre-school 5 days a week so you will be involved in drop-off/pick-ups on those days and looking after him in the afternoons, and days he is off sick. He a VERY active boy so this will involve spending lots of time outside, taking him to soft play, and doing stimulating activities that will engage his mind. We hope that you will explore London with him, taking him to interesting classes and exhibitions. Sometimes, for example when Niamh is working weekends, we might ask you to work then but would either compensate with days off during the week or extra pay, whichever you prefer. There will also be the option to babysit in the evenings sometimes if you're interested.

We have a cleaner who comes 2-times a week so the heavy duty cleaning is taken care of but we would expect that anyone living with us contributes to the general upkeep of the house - cleaning up after yourself, staying on top of dishes, day-to-day tidying - as we do ourselves.

Annoyingly, the visa rules in the U.K. mean that we can’t actually sponsor a visa for EU citizens or people from most other countries. If the rules change we’d be interested in au pairs from anywhere in the world, but unfortunately we now need to limit our search to those from British Territories, Ireland, Iceland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or people who already have the right to live and work in the U.K.
