We will pay £800 a month which is the London living wage less accommodation and living expenses. My husband is an employment lawyer, and he feels strongly about fairness--happy to answer any questions you have. Talia is in nursery Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 4:30pm, so you will be responsible for her before and after nursery with a long break in the middle of the day. Your tasks include getting her dressed in the morning, packing lunch, and driving/walking her to and from nursery. Friday you would have Talia all day, and Fridays are a good day to plan an adventure.

I work a full on call schedule as a doctor in a big hospital, so there will be weeks we need more and less help—we hope you can be flexible for particularly heavy weeks of work for us (ie when I’m working nights and Andy has a big trial), and in exchange we're happy to either pay more as babysitting hours or offer time off in lieu. That's worked well with our current au pair. We’ll make sure you get to chat with her and get the lay of the land.

We travel back to the USA a few times a year for family events, and you'd be welcome to come or take the time to explore Europe. There should be time for adventure or a course on top of Talia responsibilities.

Unfortunately, the visa rules in the U.K. mean that we can’t actually sponsor a visa for EU citizens. So annoying and such a disappointment! Brexit is the worst! If the rules change we’d be interested in au pairs from anywhere in the world, but for now we need to limit to British Territories, Iceland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or people who already have the right to live and work in the U.K.
