Who am I?
My name is Anna Nic Aoidh (Hughes in English). I was born in Newry, Co Down, Northern Ireland. I have two sisters, one older and one younger. My mother is a Primary School Principal, and my father is a Community Worker.
I attended Our lady’s Grammar School Newry and completed GCSE and A Levels. I completed an Art Foundation Course at Ulster University, Belfast and I am currently studying Fine Art at the Glasgow School of Art, Scotland.

Why do you want to become an Au Pair?

I have always had a passion for working with children. My experience began with baby-sitting for friends and relatives. Recently I was employed as a Classroom Assistant. It is a source of great joy and satisfaction to me to be able to relate to children and to encourage them to have fun and to reach their full potential socially and educationally.
As a cheerful sociable person, I look forward to meeting unique exciting people from different cultural backgrounds.
I am a student. I want to become an au pair for the summer.
During my holidays I normally work as a Checkout Operator in a local Supermarket. This year, however, I have a summer vacation from May until August. I feel I should use this time to do something new. Au Pair work offers me a unique opportunity for personal development.

Why would you like to become an Au Pair abroad?

I have travelled to Austria, France, and England as a member of Morgan Dance Theatre and have been to France and Greece on holiday. I enjoy foreign travel for its own sake but also because it is an inspiration for my creativity as an artist. Working abroad as an Au Pair would combine my interest in art, languages and working with children.
I have an excellent command of my mother tongue, English and have won essay competitions in that language. I speak Gaelic Irish fluently and I have a basic proficiency in Italian. I am naturally very keen to improve my linguistic skills.

Why should the candidate host you?

I have demonstrated the ability to adapt to a wide variety of social and work situations with calmness and dignity.
While studying for my GCSE and A levels I worked as a Checkout Operator in a local supermarket. I currently work part time as a waitress in a café to support my studies. In my various employment positions, I have earned a reputation for competence and reliability.
I have the interpersonal skills to integrate to a family situation and develop friendly personal relationships.

Why do I qualify to be an Au Pair?

I am honest, cheerful, and enthusiastic person and will be relate to children with empathy and compassion.
As a Classroom Assistant I have prepared art lessons and worked with children to increase their reading skills. I was able to encourage children to stay on task and to complete their tasks.
I bring to the work general intelligence, linguistic and artistic ability, adaptability, and a determination to carry out my duties to the very best of my ability.
