As a qualified TEFL teacher and Psychology graduate with ten years of experience working in childcare, I am confident I possess the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent care to your children. As I have done in previous roles, I would also be more than happy to support you with keeping the house running smoothly by cooking and completing household tasks.

Whilst working in the childcare sector I have gained experience caring for babies through to children aged sixteen. As a babysitter and nanny, I enjoyed creating fun activities and games for the children to do such as painting, cooking and cricket. I also helped them with their homework, taught them English and helped them play piano. Furthermore, I have reported any safeguarding issues, when necessary, as two children I cared for had problems at school and with their family. Whilst taking care of children, their safety is always at the forefront of my mind. I can make decisions quickly, am a qualified first aider and remain calm in stressful situations. At university I wanted to learn more about how best to support children’s development, so conducted a study that has now been published, on cross-cultural perspectives on child development.

As a youth worker, I worked collaboratively within my team to organise and lead games for children aged eleven to fifteen. I have also enjoyed leading an after-school debate club with children aged eight to eleven, who I encouraged to express themselves convincingly and think creatively. Both roles have developed my ability to communicate well with children and adults. Furthermore, the TEFL course I have completed has taught me to deliver English lessons that improve various skills including speaking, reading, writing, listening and pronunciation. Since graduating and teaching English online, I have gained experience leading fun and engaging lessons to children of all ages from anywhere in the world, using interactive online presentations and games. I correct children’s mistakes gently and encourage them to stay focused, motivated, and confident in their abilities.
