You could be our new au pair!

We truly enjoy welcoming au pairs into our home here in the Netherlands. Over the past five years, we’ve hosted several wonderful au pairs, and each experience has been positive and enriching for both sides.

We are a warm and open-minded family where everyone is welcome. Whether it’s joining us at the dinner table, relaxing in the garden, or just chatting at the end of the day, we want you to feel at home from the start. You’ll have your own spacious room and we respect your privacy—but we also love including you in our family life.

Are you an active and responsible person who enjoys taking initiative? Do you like the energy of a lively household with kids who are always on the move? Our home is rarely quiet—there’s always something happening! We really value a hands-on, proactive attitude: someone who notices when help is needed and enjoys organizing fun things with the kids.

Our children love being outdoors, playing soccer in the garden, swimming, watching movies, and playing games. They speak English well (even the 3-year-old knows a few basics!), so no need to worry about Dutch—unless you’d like to learn it.

We’re looking for an au pair who is proactive, responsible, and enjoys taking initiative—someone who sees what needs to be done and steps in naturally, without waiting to be asked.

The role is based on an average of 30 hours per week, following a basic, structured schedule. This usually means:

1 full day, and
3 days with morning and evening routines (before and after daycare/school).
You’ll always have weekends off, plus one additional day off during the week. While we follow a clear routine, we also appreciate some flexibility when needed—especially during school holidays or if one of us is traveling for work.

Our toddler, Mats, currently attends daycare 3 days a week and will start school in January 2026. The older children are mostly at school and already quite independent.

Your main focus will be on caring for Mats and creating a calm, structured routine around him. In addition, we ask for help with light household tasks, such as:

Vacuuming common areas
Ironing clothes
Tidying and organizing toys, cupboards, and children's spaces
Changing and refreshing the children’s bed linen
Keeping the house tidy as part of daily life
We value someone who treats the home as a shared space, takes pride in their work, and enjoys being active with the children.

Acomodação de Aupair

As our au pair, you’ll have your own spacious and comfortable room (more than 25 m²) with a beautiful view of the garden. You’ll also have your own private bathroom with shower, so you can enjoy plenty of privacy.

We want you to feel at home—not just in your room, but in our entire house. You’re always welcome to join us at the dinner table, spend time in the living areas, or relax in the garden. At the same time, we understand how important it is to have your own space to unwind.

Your room is fully equipped with:

a large smart TV
high-speed WiFi
fridge
microwave
coffee machine
We also provide a mobile phone subscription and a public transport card (NS travel card), which gives you free train travel during weekends and 40% discount during weekdays. This makes it easy and affordable to explore the Netherlands in your free time.
