Hi! I'm Sara, I’m 22 years old and I’m from Scotland. I graduated last year from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in Spanish and English Literature and now I work as a civil servant for the British government. From 2022-2023 I did an exchange year at the University of Málaga which was a brilliant experience. During this time I really enjoyed learning all about Spain and its culture (I noticed some similarities with Scotland and also some very big differences, most notably the weather, haha!). I also discovered how much I love to travel and meet new people. I would love to return to Spain this year, this time as an Au Pair.

Experiência com crianças

I'd love to become an Au Pair in Spain because I'm a friendly, caring and responsible person. I enjoy working with children and have a lot of patience and enthusiasm which helps me to build good relationships with them and provide the support that they need. I’m always eager to take on new challenges as I enjoy learning and am very adaptable.

Although I don’t have professional experience, I certainly have a lot of personal experience which has prepared me to be an Au Pair. I have spent a lot of time during the past 4 years looking after my two younger cousins, now aged 11 and 8. I often care for them, pick them up from school and help them with their homework. The oldest was recently diagnosed with diabetes which has taught me a lot about responsibility and how to quickly adapt to a new situation. I've learned to assist with his daily checks and generally stay in tune with his well being. I believe these experiences have helped me develop strong skills such as patience, safety and reliability which have prepared me for the role of an Au Pair.

If this is of interest I would also be very happy to help any children I care for with their English. As a native speaker with a relevant degree I’m well prepared to help others learn and practice their speaking (but don’t be surprised if they pick up some Scottish slang along the way haha). As for my Spanish abilities, I am not fluent and still have a lot to learn, but I have studied it for 4 years and am currently taking B2 Spanish classes to keep up my language skills. I’d love the opportunity to live in Spain again so I can improve further.
