Dear Host Family,

My name is Jayne and I am 26 years old. I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where there are some tourist attractions, such as Christ the Redeemer and the best beaches, with amazing restaurants. I love living here because it is a place with very welcoming people, great tourist attractions and many cultural events. I always enjoy going out with my friends to go shopping, to the movies, theaters, parks and shows.

I was raised by my grandparents, they are very caring people with our family.

My family is very supportive about my trip to the U.S.A, as they know it’s going to be very important for my life, it’s very good to have an experience in another country. In this way, I can grow more as an independent person, improve my English and learn about your marvelous culture! I usually spend my free time eating good food, watching movies and series. And on my weekends, I go to the beach, visit friends, go to the cinema to watch good movies that I love, such as comedies, drama, adventure and children's movies. I love staying at home cooking and studying. I would describe myself as an open-minded, patient and outgoing person. I also enjoy cooking, singing and dancing. I love to travel, no matter the place, I always enjoy the trip! In 2023, I graduated in “Biomedicine” and currently work as a Biomedical Aesthetician in aesthetic clinics and do my private appointments.
My experiences with children began early, when I had my cousin. I started taking care of them when I was 15.

My neighbor Helen has a daughter, Haila, who is 4 years old. I had experience taking care of her when she was a newborn. I was responsible for bathing her, putting her to bed, and as soon as she started going to school, I was responsible for picking her up from school in the afternoon, preparing her snacks, helping with school activities, playing, watching TV, preparing dinner, bathing her, and getting her ready for bed, every day of the week, because her mother worked outside the home. I was responsible for her for two years and five months. It was the best experience I have ever had taking care of a small child. I loved it so much because I really enjoy taking care of her. We have become friends to this day. On the weekends I take some time to spend together.

My family friend, Priscila, has a beautiful son, Bernardo, who was 3 years old at the time and is now 7 years old. I was responsible for Bernardo, I played with him and always played and helped him with snacks. I always loved him because he is a very affectionate child and full of energy for games, he always had a lot of fun.

I decided to be an Au Pair because I hope this experience will help me improve my English skills and that living, working and studying in the US will be great for my career as a Biomedical Scientist. I would also like to travel abroad and learn more about the American lifestyle, American culture and share experiences with you. I think it would be fascinating to get to know other countries and cultures while working, studying and living there. I want to do my best and take care of your children as if they were my own. I want to give them all my love and knowledge, and I will do it with love and care.
