I want to become an au pair because I think it’s a wonderful experience to share a piece of your life and your story with people you don’t know and who live on the other side of the world. This for me is not just an experience but an exchange, because my goal is also to enrich me as a person, to learn and know people with different characters and different ways of living life. The thing that excites me the most about this experience is that at the beginning you are strangers and at the end you become family.
I really like "working" with children and teenagers because they are like white canvases, with some sketches just done, and knowing that I can contribute to the wonderful paint they will become give me a lot of joy.
I also love listening to children and teenagers because listening is an important key that opens many doors. It helps you get to know them, get them to express their creativity and see if there is any problem.
I like to know that I can contribute to their growth, be some step forward in life in order to teach them what I have already learned.
While working with children I learned to be very patient, very careful and I also learned problem solving, not to panic in difficult situations but to deal with them. I have learned that there is always a solution and often my field will be to make this solution accessible to the kids/teenagers, when they can’t find one, both in the most banal situations that in the most difficult ones. I want to be a friend to play with and to ask help when they need it.
Surely I will teach them to never give up, not to say "I’m not capable", "I’m not enough", "It’s impossible for me" because there is nothing impossible as long as you commit yourself to something. I will teach them not to run away from negative moments but to learn to deal with them and overcome them. I will teach them that there is no pain so great as to prevent you from seeing the light and that life is made up of small and big challenges, all useful for us to grow and improve. I’ll teach them that curiosity is the cure to boredom and that life is such a beautiful gift.
For me my family is the most important thing, they are a gift for my life, a blessing and now I comprehend the honour I had to have my dad as my father, such a wonderful man I will love and miss forever.
Two of the most important people in my life are my grandparents, the parents of my mum. I love them so much, I’ve been raised from them since I was little and they never spare a drop of their love for me.
I love all my cousins, friends and of course my two best friends. To have healthy and happy relations in my life is one of the most important thing for me.
