Hi, hej!

We are a Swedish-American family and are looking for a Swedish-speaking au pair for our daughter starting this winter. We live on New York's Upper East Side, close to Central Park, many museums and two subway lines for easy transportation around the city. Sebastian is Swedish and Jessica is American. Jessica has studied as a foreign student abroad in Germany and speaks intermediate Swedish (though she is constantly getting better!).

Although we love living in the city because there is so much to do, we also love being outdoors. Especially in the summer, we spend lots of time in parks, and we have terraces at our apartment where we keep a garden. Staying active is important to us, but we also enjoy relaxing, particularly with good books from the local library. We also visit with friends, often eating lunch/dinner together or going for walks.

For food, we mix between cooking at home—Jessica is vegetarian and Sebastian is vegan—and we love to cook, though sometimes we don't find the time. In that case we often order from the many restaurants in our neighborhood. Nearly every nationality of food is available in New York City!
